A Luminous Life
Morgan Siewert

A Luminous Life would consist of an algorithmic animation made with Processing software projected through prisms, mirrors, and other reflective materials.  The image would be scattered, recaptured and redirected through the space.  A Luminous Light would work well either with the rotunda area near  the parking ramp door, or the circular walk way in-between the parking garage level and the main level of the museum.  The curving walls that make up both these spaces would interact with the effects of the moving light.

A Luminous Light attempts to illustrate the malleability of the elusive medium.   Controlling and manipulating such a visual medium that lacks any tangibility will create an installation harnessing the normally unruly medium.  The light ray's usefulness comes from its ability to be invisible but yet simultaneously promotes visibility.  The light will be split by the addition of prisms and reconfigured with mirrors and reflective materials.  The intangible light will be bent, scattered, reflected and refracted along it's journey to its inescapable end at the projection screen
